Welcome & Hello

Meet our counsellor

Hello, my name is Sue and I am a BACP registered Counsellor. I was naturally drawn to this profession after suffering a life changing injury myself and wanting to put my efforts into helping others with their struggles. I made it my mission to educate myself so that others can feel hopeful about their healing too. I have experience of working with people who have a wide range of issues, including;

  • Stress
  • Anxiety & Depression
  • Injury & Illness
  • Pain Management
  • Relationships
  • Emotional, Physical & Sexual Abuse
  • Grief & Loss
  • Trauma
  • Low Confidence & Self-esteem

Although I have had my own experiences around counselling and in life, I acknowledge that your experiences are unique. I completely empathise with how daunting it can be to take the initial steps towards therapy. When your feelings are difficult to understand and manage, being able and feeling comfortable to talk freely and openly about what is happening for you can help you to develop new insights, growth and healing in your life.

My approach

I feel I offer a unique service for each individual because I bring my natural empathy, knowledge and skill set that I have developed through my education and experience into our therapy sessions. I make therapy about you and  we work together to reach your therapeutic goals. While ensuring that I facilitate a safe, non-judgemental and welcoming environment where we can explore together, in complete confidence, the issues and challenges you may be experiencing.

I value the professional connection required to provide the high level of practice I thrive to provide. Unlike other professions, it is important to have a strong therapeutic relationship with your counsellor. Research suggests that 70-80% of success in therapy comes from the professional relationship you have with your therapist.

Counselling is extremely empowering when the professional relationship connects. This is such an important structure within the service that if that does not seem to happen for us, I will make it my aim to help you find what is right for you, whether this be continuing with my services or not. You, the client comes first.
